Okay, here it is.

The copywriting secret that has the potential to change EVERYTHING for you. It’s the tip of the iceberg to singing your customer’s tune.

Did you hear that? Your customer’s tune. 

Not your tune. Your customer’s tune. 

And that’s the secret. 

When you’re writing copy, STOP talking about yourself, your product, your amazingness, your awesome sauce. 

That’s nothing more than marketing masturbation. 

Self-gratification only helps you.

Businesses that focus only on helping themselves are not in business very long.

Quit thinking only about yourself. 

It’s NOT about YOU! 

It’s about your people. Your prospects. Your customers, clients, followers, fans. 

What pain do they feel? What’s their secret misery? What terrifies them? What are their worst fears? What’s holding them back? 

Often, you’re the only holding them back. All they hear is you talking about how amazing you are instead of how you can help them, heal them, soothe their pain, put their fear fires out.

Nobody cares about you unless they know how much you care about them.

Remove the “I” and the “me” and the “my” from your copy.

Replace them with “you,” “your,” "you’re.”

If you do NOTHING else this year to improve your copy, let it be this one thing.

Go forth and prosper.

And may your copy ever be melodic and harmonious!
